All of the Handy Festival events take place in our riverside parks in beautiful downtown Henderson.
Keep in mind that Water Street, the street that parallels the river, will be closed to motor traffic. But there's plenty of parking throughout downtown Henderson. Wherever you park, you'll be within three blocks of the festival.
Here's how to get to the festival site:
- From the North
- Take U.S. 41 to Evansville, then cross the river. Once you're in You'll travel past a couple of miles of motels and restaurants. Follow the signs to (downtown) Henderson, which will put you on U.S. 60 (Green Street), heading west (actually southwest, but who's counting?. Turn right at Second Street; the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
- From the East
- Option 1 (best if you're coming from Louisville or beyond). Take Interstate 64 to Interstate 164 near Evansville. Take I-164 heading south, past Evansville, to U.S. 41, and follow the signs to Henderson. Once you're in You'll travel past a couple of miles of motels and restaurants. Follow the signs to (downtown) Henderson, which will put you on U.S. 60 (Green Street), heading west (actually southwest, but who's counting?. Turn right at Second Street; the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
- Option 2 (best if you're coming from western Kentucky): Take the Audubon Parkway from Owensboro to Henderson. Follow the signs to Henderson, then take the Zion Road/Kentucky 351 exit. Turn right (west); you'll travel about two miles to downtown Henderson. Once you cross U.S. 60/Green Street, the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
- From the South
- Take the Pennyrile Parkway, which extends from near the Tennessee border between Clarksville, Tenn., and Hopkinsville, Ky. Once you reach Henderson, take the Zion Road/Kentucky 351 exit. Turn right (west); you'll travel about two miles to downtown Henderson. Once you cross U.S. 60/Green Street in downtown Henderson, the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
- From the West
- Option 1 (best if you're coming from St. Louis): Take Interstate 64 to Interstate 164 (which will enable you to skip all the stoplights along U.S. 41 through Evansville). Take I-164 heading south, past Evansville, to U.S. 41, and follow the signs to Henderson. Once you're in You'll travel past a couple of miles of motels and restaurants. Follow the signs to (downtown) Henderson, which will put you on U.S. 60 (Green Street), heading west (actually southwest, but who's counting?. Turn right at Second Street; the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
- Option 2 (best if you're coming from western Kentucky): Take U.S. 60 to Henderson. Turn left at either First Street or Second Street in downtown Henderson; the riverfront will be just three blocks away.
